So I just found this game and it has amazing potential to be a good Wizard simulator.
Here are some of my ideas for the game if it reaches its MMO aspirations.
Mana - You gain more and more mana allowing you to cast bigger and more powerful spells.(maybe even cast faster???)
Proficiency - The more you cast a spell the better you become at it, faster casting speed, less mana wasted, you could even have a system that requires you to "practice" a specific spell. Spells would have lifetime built into them by the spell creator, the longer the lifetime the more you have to practice it to be able to cast it at its full lifetime.
So if you cast a spell that last for 2 minutes the first time it would fail or rather stop in first 10 seconds because you can't maintain it yet, the mana cost and cast time for it would be a lot higher also.
Spell Creation Points??? - The higher level or the more experience you have the bigger and more powerful spells you can code.
Books - People who can't code and wont be bothered to code will probably want to play this game also, so for instance players who can code can create books that they can sell.
The price for the books will be automatically chosen by the system by taking into account how powerful the spells are and how many copies of that book he wants to create. More copies of the book means smaller price.
People who code their own spells will have a faster learning/proficiency speed for those spells.
Spell editing - If you decide to edit or change a spell a bit then you will lose some proficiency for that spell. Player who have learnt a spell from book would "unlock" parts of the code every time their proficiency increases so they themselves can improve or change the spell after they have mastered it.
Book Protection ? - Books could have some kind of white-listing system that could act as a spell, for instance if you are not white-listed then the book wont open, teleports back to the shelf, explodes, etc.
Well these are some of my ideas for this game, I haven't really searched the forums yet so I have no idea if any of this has been suggested before.
